The photographs of Venice on these pages were not taken by the editorial team: they come from Wikimedia Commons, the Wikimedia Foundation's archive of freely reusable files. We only select photographs released under a Creative Commons licence that permits reuse, or already in the public domain because no copyright remains in them.

Creative Commons licences require the author and the licence to be credited. That is why, below this text, you will find the full list of the images used on the site, generated automatically from the files' own metadata: for each photograph it gives the file title, the author's name exactly as stated on Commons, the licence (with its code and version) and a link to the original file page. The list is rebuilt along with the site, so it always reflects the images actually published.

Corrections and takedown requests

An attribution can turn out to be incomplete or simply wrong, and files are sometimes uploaded to Commons by people who did not in fact hold the rights. If you are the author of a photograph and want your name corrected, the licence shown changed, or the image removed from the site, write to support@alltickets.venice.it attaching the address of the page where it appears, the link to the file on Wikimedia Commons and something that shows you own the rights. We reply within two working days: if the request stands up, the photograph is replaced or removed without argument. The general terms are in the terms, and other ways to reach us are on the contact page.
